Security Training (Certificate of Approval Mandatory Training)
We are proud to be Trainers for Industry Training Solutions for a variety of NZQA courses. ITS are a Category One Private Training Establishment and we are able to offer their Certificate of Approval Mandatory training here in Wellington!
We are pleased to offer this two day course in conjunction with some of the best security trainers in the industry. All trainers have significant experience in the delivery of this training, often gained from Police, military or personal protection operational experience. We offer this course in conjunction with NZQA accredited providers.
The mandatory training for security officers around New Zealand is now fully underway and there are three unit standards that are required to be done by themselves or as part of the NZQA National Certificate in Security Level 2.
The standards must be completed by all those that wish to work in the security industry and hold the Crowd Controller (CC), Personal Guard (PSG) and Property Guard (PRG) endorsements on the COA.
US 27360 - Conflict Management (Theory)
US 27361 - Conflict Management (Practical)
US 27364 - Introduction to the Security Industry (Theory)
Current COA holders
Current COA holders need to complete the programme. Those who have completed the National Certificate in Security Level 2 Version 8 or are currently working towards completion will meet the requirements. Those who have completed Levels 2 and 3 previously are exempt from 27464 but no one is exempt from the two Conflict Management unit standards.
New COA applicants
From October 1st 2013 guards who apply for a COA must complete the regulatory training before they can be issued with an individual licence or a COA. However a temporary COA can be issued while the training is being completed. Temporary COAs are valid for 3 months only.
In addition to the Mandatory Unit Standard training we can also assist you with your COA Application if required.
